To date the government stimulus package is offering 30% of the purchase price of high performance windows and doors back to homeowners in tax credits up to $1500.00.
This includes windows, doors, and skylites that have a Solar Heat Gain Co-efficient of .30 or lower and a U-Value of .30 or lower.
The tax credit is a complete credit on existing tax debt or available as a refund if a refund is due. This is not simply a tax write off that affects an amount off your taxable income but rather the government offering to pay $1500.00 of a $5000.00 home improvement.
