types of replacement windows. Most manufacturers
have very similar extrusions (components) that make
up their replacement windows. I have dealt with them
here as types, not manufacturers. "Apples
to apples" as it were. Read about them,

your easiest way to see that you get the type and
model and manufacturer that is best for your needs
and your long term goals for your home.

| Single
Hung Vinyl Windows
A great
way to get a thermally sound insulated window at a
great price.
One of
our least expensive models.......but 30 to 50% more
energy efficient than the ones your house was built
with.
These
can be the least expensive of all replacement windows
that are Window Connection approved for all applications.
They
vary in cost drastically depending on manufacturer,
glass package, frame thickness, reinforcement technology,
and most importantly....quality control.
Some
manufacturers offer a builders grade vinyl single
hung, while others offer a product that is truely
"top of the line" from the glass package
to the available options, to the thicker more substantial
3 1/4" main frame.
As a
rule, you need to hang around 100 units of a product
to have a really good picture of their overall quality,
design, and warranty issues. We have four different
manufacturers and more than 10 different choices availble
for the single hung vinyl. All are amazingly energy
efficient.

Single
Hung Aluminum Windows
First Understand the two types of Aluminum Windows
Non-Thermally
Broken Windows
Great
for rental properties or the property that you're
about to put on the market. Our least expensive
model is the non-thermally broken aluminum replacement
window.
These
can run as little as $250 each installed. They
are not a recommended product if you live in a home
that appraises over $100,000 or a home that you will
live in for three or more years.

A commercially rated
C-35 unit with tilt in bottom sash, high performance
glass and a wonderful usability.These are great in several applications. They are great for unusally
tall windows, windows that need a dark brown color on the exterior, and many homes that are valued over $300,000.

North Dallas.

- Double Hung Vinyl Windows
This
is what I sell the most of. Very cost efficient.
Plenty of bang for the buck. The insulated glass
in these units is literally twice as thick as the
less expensive models out there. The thickest
retro-fit frames available as well as high performance
glass and argon gas filling available. These are our
most popular windows.

Hung Aluminum Windows
These
are the cool ones for sure. Custom Sized, Thick
Glass, Double Tilting Sashes, Full Screens, Low-E
Glass, Argon Gas, Thermally Broken Sash and Main Frames.
I think this is among the best windows available today. The frames are a bit thick in appearance.

| Wood
Windows
Andersen's
and Pella's have the name recognition......but there
are some drawbacks and labor concerns.....have a look
at the real inside story. These higher end products
can be costly for the retro-fit installation. They are beautiful and require the utmost in carpentry skills. No one is better with wood than The Window Connection.

Bay
and Bow Windows
There are several approaches
to most retrofit bow units. If you're replacing
one you already have or installing a new outlook on
an existing window. these are a beautiful addition
to any home. We pride ourselves on being among the
